Fire Clinch Playoff Berth - Updated

Box Score

Ave Maria, Fla.- The Southeastern University Fire men's soccer took on the Ave Maria Gyrenes Thursday afternoon in a conference finale match up.  The Fire won the game by a final of 3-1 allowing them to clinch their first ever Sun Conference playoff berth.

The goals came from Gustavo DaSilva who scored his goal unassisted and then Stephen Eppinger added two of his own.  Eppinger's goals were assisted by Stuart Branstetter and Christian Bores.

Update 10/30/2012

Due to eligibility issues not related to the Southeastern University men’s soccer team, other Sun Conference teams will be credited with a win via forfeit.  The change in the standings moves Southeastern into ninth place in the Sun Conference with only the top eight teams advancing to the post season tournament.

The Fire will be back in action as they take part in the NCCAA regional tournament.  Dates and times will be announced as soon as they are available.
