Offense Shines in Shutout Win

Lakeland, Fla.- Southeastern women's soccer team won Saturday afternoon as their offense dazzled against Florida Memorial University.  The Fire won the game by a final of 4-0 over the Lion's.

The first half saw many opportunities for the Fire as they passed their way deep into the Lion's defense, the Fire were held off for most of the first half until Susie Schwartz scored off of a rebound in the 27th minute.  The game would go into half at 1-0 thanks in part to the Fire defense and goalkeeper Karleigh Smoak.

The second half was all Southeastern as they put on one of their best single half displays of the season.  The Fire saw ten chances to score in the second half and they came up with three goals out of those opportunities.  The first came in the 61st minute when Jessica Crowe drove down the end line and passed to Schwartz who then forwarded the pass onto Ally Larese who beat a defenseless goalie.  The next goal came in the 80th minute when Ally Larese scored again off of an assist from Sianna Davis.  The Fire capped the scoring in the 85th minute when Crowe scored after the Lion's goalkeeper deflected Lorin Ressler's shot.

The Fire outshout Florida Memorial 18 to nine and dominated possesion of the ball for all 90 minutes.

The Fire will play again against USCB on October, 11th at 7 p.m. in Lakeland, Fla.
