The Fire Roll Warner in Route to Shutout

Box Score

Lake Wales, Fla.- The Southeastern University women’s soccer team played Warner University on Saturday for the second time this season and came away with their second win against the Royals by a final of 3-0.

It was all Southeastern from the kickoff, Shelby Wells scored in the sixth minute of the game to open the scoring for the Fire. She was assisted on the goal by defender Kayce Martin.

The scoring continued for the Fire in the 23rd minute when senior midfielder Lorin Ressler put the ball past Royals goalie Laura Daugherty to make the game 2-0.

Southeastern would tack on a third goal three minutes into the second half when senior forward Melodie Kepto scored an unassisted goal. That is all they needed as they went onto shutout the Royals by a final of 3-0. Karliegh Smoak and Lisa Jadick combined for the shutout in net.

The Fire play again September 26 against Northwood University.
