Volleyball Loses Two at Coastal Georgia

Box Score

Brunswick, Ga. – The Southeastern University volleyball team struggled in two losses on Saturday at the College of Coastal Georgia tri-match from Brunswick, Ga.

The Fire opened the day against the host school and fell 19-25, 23-25, 25-21, and 10-25.

Christi Limpert led the Fire in the opener with an excellent hitting percentage of .563 while knocking down 10 kills. Unfortunately, 33 attack errors and a team hitting percentage of .087 led to inconsistent play and allowed the Mariners to win three out of four sets.

In the day’s second contest, the Fire looked to redeem themselves against Southern Wesleyan, a team they lost to 3-1 last weekend at the Faulkner University tournament.

They would have no such luck as the Warriors made easy work of SEU, dropping them by the identical 3-1 score

Limpert was once again the star on the offensive end as she knocked down 12 kills while Tara McSherley dished out 19 assists to add on to the 18 she had in the first match of the day.

Things don’t get any easier as the Fire open up Sun Conference play next Friday in Daytona Beach, Fla. against No. 6 ranked Embry-Riddle University.
