LAKELAND--The Southeastern University volleyball team has added a new recruit, as Nicolette Sawicki, of Chandler, Ariz., recently signed her letter of intent to play for the Lady Fire. Sawicki is a 6'0 standout and played her high school volleyball at Corona del Sol.

"We are very happy to add Nicolette to our Fire volleyball family," said Head Coach Terry Thomas. "She is a strong hitter and blocker with great court vision. As a coach, I am also extremely joyful to add not just her height and skill but another player who loves God and wants her life, volleyball and major to be to God's honor and glory. The volleyball team has traditionally had a consistently high team GPA, and Nicolette is a disciplined student who excels in the classroom and on the volleyball court."

In 2012, she helped guide her high school team to the Arizona State Championship Game, while playing the middle blocker position.

She plans on majoring in pre-med at Southeastern.
