Game Winner Comes Right Before End of First Half
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.--Southeastern University lost a heartbreaking game, Saturday afternoon, falling to NCAA D-II Palm Beach Atlantic, 1-0.
The only goal of the match came right before the end of the first half, when PBA's Matt Crumb found a loose ball in front of the SEU net, and beat Fire goal keeper David Danahy. It was a tough goal to handle for SEU, as just 20 seconds remained before the half, and it eventually stood as the game winning goal.
The Sailfish outshot Southeastern, 15-8, but Danahy made six key saves in the match to keep the Fire in the contest.
PBA goal keeper, Steven Bush, earned the shutout in net, as Southeastern was shutout for the sixth time on the year.
Palm Beach Atlantic improves to 6-6 overall while Southeastern falls to 4-9 on the season.
Southeastern will host Clearwater Christian College, Tuesday night, at 7:00 p.m., for Senior Night at the SEU Soccer Complex.
